The design of these earrings is derived from cross sections of shells. The DNA from a variety of shells are being researched by scientists at the Department of Invertebrate Zoology, National Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian Institution. Shells have a beauty and sheen all their own. The diversity of geometric forms and color patterns that are revealed when a shell is sliced is immense. These silver plated earrings measure 1-1/2" long and 1-1/8" wide.
